The world of open is complex and many terms get thrown around. Open Educational Resources and Open Pedagogy often get paired as Open Educational Practices.
In addition to opening education, there is a movement to make science and data open to the public. The hopes of these open movements are to better educate and serve society and create more innovation. Another aim of the movement is to ensure transparency and responsible use of research funds, whether they are from federal or private funders.
